Four-time Group 1 winner Sky Lantern has had her first foal, born at Rockcliffe Stud where she retired to in October 2014 after a remarkable racing career.
Winner of the Moyglare Stakes in Ireland as a two year old, she went on to win three more Group 1 races in 2013, including the Qipco 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Ed, racing manager for owners Simon and Ben Keswick and buyer of Sky Lantern as a yearling, said “It’s obviously exciting to have a foal from such a brilliant racemare and by an amazing stallion. It’s early days but he looks a very good first foal with plenty of presence and bone.”
